Temporary Pipeline Strainers used on QER Shale Oil project in Queensland

Specialist Pipeline Equipment supplier HORIZON Industrial has completed a contract to supply a number of temporary Pipeline Strainers for the QER Shale Oil Project in Gladstone, Queensland,
Temporary Pipeline Strainers are used to filter out solid particles and other debris to protect sensitive instruments, valves, controllers and equipment fromdamage duringthe testing and commissioning phase of new projects, specific maintenance projects and/or plant shutdowns.
Two main types of Strainers are employed : Cone Type (also known as Top Hat or Witch's Hat) and Flat Plate Type strainers.
The Strainers are fitted into pipe spools or between flanges at critical points in the piping system. Once the testing and commissioning phase of the project is completed, the Strainers are then removed.
