Y-Type Strainers
Y-Type Strainers were developed specifically for use in piping systems as a cost-effective solution particularly where space is a premium, as the element or basket is usually accessed from the underside of the housing or Strainer body. The dimensional envelope for Y-Type Pipeline Strainers is significantly less than other Strainer types such as T-Type and Duplex which require access via the top of the housing or body.
Y-Type Strainers remove unwanted solids from liquid or gas flow streams using a perforated, wire mesh or woven wire straining element (or basket). They protect pipeline equipment such as pumps, engines, instrumentation, valves and other sensitive process equipment by removing particles and debris that may harm or contaminate installed components.
